EMT 151 - Emergency Medical Technology, Part 1

Provides instruction at the level of Emergency Medical Technician, a vital link in the chain of the health care system. Includes all skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care as outlined by scope of practice established by the Oregon Medical Board. Serves as the first of a two-part course in a series of courses making up a national and state EMS training program.

Prerequisite: Completion of placement testing for writing skills at WR 080 or higher, reading at RD 090 or higher and math at MTH 052 or higher. Must be concurrently enrolled BLS Health Care Providers CPR course. Must meet standards as set by the Oregon State EMS Office for licensure which includes health, driving, immunizations, and criminal record check.
