BA 276 Advanced Payroll Lecture Hours: 4 Credits: 4
Expands student’s current knowledge of payroll to include advanced payroll accounting, internal controls, and ethics.
Prerequisite: BA 177 ; BA 228 ; and CIS 125E or BA 225 ; with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Concurrent: BA 228 may be completed at the same time as BA276. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Calculate and process payroll including employee and employer state and federal tax and other deduction items.
- Determine and complete year-end payroll reporting requirements.
- Evaluate internal controls over payroll processing using accepted standards for internal control.
- Review and practice ethical standards for the payroll professional using the standards as outlined by the American Payroll Association.
- Accurately complete comprehensive payroll using Quickbooks.
