FRP 292 Fire Incident Related Experience 5

Provides education and training based on NFPA 1001 Firefighter II to include implementation of IMS, safely and effectively leading a firefighting team, fire department communications and reports, use of hose tools and appliances and identification of construction materials and building collapse. Students will have continued practicum in NFPA Firefighter I skill set as part of evolution-based training.

Prerequisite: FRP 291  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. 
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate working knowledge of the Incident Management System sections of FEMA (NIMS) ICS 200 and program procedures.
  2. Demonstrate communication procedures related to initiating and reporting responses, according to program procedures.
  3. Coordinate an interior attack line for a team’s accomplishment of an assignment in a structure fire.
  4. Identify construction materials and how those materials may influence fire behavior and structural stability during structural firefighting operations.
  5. Demonstrate how to flow test, perform an inspection and exterior maintenance on a fire hydrant.
  6. Demonstrate the use of hose adapters and appliances to secure a supply line or place an attack line into service.
  7. Demonstrate continued proficiency in NFPA Firefighter I fireground operations skills.
