WR 105 Academic Support for Writing Lecture Hours: 2 Credits: 2
Develops reading, writing, study, and critical thinking skills and strategies needed for WR 090 , OR WR 115 .
Corequisite: WR 090 and WR 090A Concurrent: Requires concurrent enrollment in specific section of WR 090 , or WR 115 . Student Learning Outcomes:
- Use reading techniques, such as previewing, scanning, and skimming to increase reading fluency and comprehension.
- Use strategies to critically read assigned texts for Writing courses (WR090-WR122).
- Apply multiple strategies to learn academic vocabulary related to Writing courses (WR090-WR122)
- Participate effectively in the writing process.
- Analyze information and ideas gained from Writing courses (WR090-WR122) to complete written assignments and exams.
- Use technology necessary to be successful in Writing courses (WR090-WR122).
- Use college resources to enhance learning in Writing courses (WR090-WR122).
