WR 105 Academic Support for Writing

Develops reading, writing, study, and critical thinking skills and strategies needed for WR 090 , OR WR 115 .

Corequisite: WR 090   and WR 090A  
Concurrent: Requires concurrent enrollment in specific section of WR 090 , or WR 115 .
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use reading techniques, such as previewing, scanning, and skimming to increase reading fluency and comprehension. 
  2. Use strategies to critically read assigned texts for Writing courses (WR090-WR122).
  3. Apply multiple strategies to learn academic vocabulary related to Writing courses (WR090-WR122)
  4. Participate effectively in the writing process.
  5. Analyze information and ideas gained from Writing courses (WR090-WR122) to complete written assignments and exams.
