ANES 112 Operating Room Environment

Understand the layout and ergonomics of the operating room. Demonstrate operating room attire and protocols with regard to hand hygiene and infection control. Demonstrate the physiology of patient positioning and operating table equipment.

Corequisite: ANES 101 , ANES 103 , and PHM 243 ; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Compare and contrast the various patient anatomical positions or surgical cases. 
  2. Understands the layout and ergonomics of the operating room. 
  3. Identifies protocols that govern the operating room. 
  4. Applies knowledge of patient positioning in relation to operating table and equipment.
