APR 153A Electrician Apprenticeship Fundamentals Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Provides training for Inside Wire Electrician Apprentices. Includes trade history and concepts, trade math, basic electrical DC theory, safety, and introduction to Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. Prerequisite: Provides training for Inside Wire Electrician Apprentices. Includes trade history and concepts, trade math, basic electrical DC theory, safety, and introduction to Oregon Electrical Specialty Code.
Prerequisite: Provides training for Inside Wire Electrician Apprentices. Includes trade history and concepts, trade math, basic electrical DC theory, safety, and introduction to Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Solve mathematical formulas and equations related to theory and practices of the trade.
- Describe and apply basic theory of electrical sources in DC circuits, series and parallel circuits, and calculate voltage drop.
- Use Ohmmeters and other test equipment to make electrical measurements.
- Apply the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code.
- Work safely in a variety of electrical systems.
