APR 156F HVAC/R Apprenticeship Intermediate 3 Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Focuses on HVAC ducting types and principles; various types and designs of commercial airside systems, indoor air quality design and application, and hydronic systems. Designed for Oregon State recognized apprentices working in the HVAC/R trade.
Prerequisite: APR 156E with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the standards and application considerations related to ducting.
- Describe basic commercial airside systems and their operating characteristics.
- Identify the processes and equipment used to control indoor air quality.
- Describe the hydronic systems and the principles of closed system water flow.
