APR 158A Plumber Apprenticeship Fundamentals Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Introduces related training for the plumber apprentice in trade theory and practices. Includes an introduction to the trade, basic math, related science, 2017 Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code (OPSC), blueprint reading, and safety.
Prerequisite: Registered apprentice; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain the plumbing trade, careers, laws, and tools.
- Solve plumbing-related math problems using basic math, fractions and decimals.
- Apply related science information to plumbing applications.
- Identify and apply articles in the 2017 OPSC.
- Practice safety techniques.
- Identify types of drains, pipes and fittings and their uses.
