APR 166C Sheet Metal Apprenticeship: Fundamentals of Layout

Presents related training consistent with the minimum skill requirements of the sheet metal trade. Includes advanced sheet metal calculations, an introduction to architectural sheet metal, blueprint reading, and layout of common fittings.

Prerequisite: APR 166B  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Solve sheet-metal related mathematical problems using equations and trigonometry.
  2. Measure and calculate perimeter and area. Explain the law of right triangles. 
  3. Identify types of architectural sheet metal. 
  4. Read blueprint drawings and spec books. 
  5. Identify, layout, and fabricate selected duct-run fittings
