APR 253K Electrician Apprenticeship Voltage Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Offers training for the inside wire electrician apprentice. Includes a thorough review of the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. Focuses on theory and application of motor controls, solid state fundamentals, special termination, layout, hazardous locations and transformer locations.
Prerequisite: APR 253J with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain and accurately interpret the National Electrical Code
- Apply solid state fundamentals to motor controls and electrical devices.
- Explain high voltage, basic job layout, recognize hazardous location and make transformer connection.
