APR 253K Electrician Apprenticeship Voltage

Offers training for the inside wire electrician apprentice. Includes a thorough review of the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. Focuses on theory and application of motor controls, solid state fundamentals, special termination, layout, hazardous locations and transformer locations.

Prerequisite: APR 253J  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Explain and accurately interpret the National Electrical Code 
  2. Apply solid state fundamentals to motor controls and electrical devices. 
  3. Explain high voltage, basic job layout, recognize hazardous location and make transformer connection.
