APR 258H Plumber Apprenticeship-Commercial Installation Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Continues related training for plumber apprentices in trade theory and practices. Includes commercial installation practices, related applied math and science, OSHA, safety, and 2017 Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code (OPSC).
Prerequisite: APR 258G with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain the installation of fixtures and appliances in commercial and residential units.
- Calculate offsets, volume, ratio and proportions.
- Relate the science of energy and temperature, heat transfer, water treatment, and electrical theory and testing to plumbing situations.
- Apply industry established safety standards to plumbing.
- Interpret OPSC specifications.
- Read blueprints.
