APR 266F Sheetmetal Apprenticeship-Applied Math Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Provides related training materials and skill development consistent with the minimum requirements of the sheet metal trade. Course content includes shop math, basic shop practices, draft skills, duct design, blow pipe principles and human relations/sensitivity.
Prerequisite: APR 166E with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Calculate elementary algebraic equations and formulas
- Describe shop efficiency, safety and profit concepts.
- Identify requirements for specific blowpipe systems per SMACNA.
- Design and detail HVAC duct systems. Utilize recognized standard building codes guideline as applicable
- Apply OSHA practices in relationship to the specific trade
