ART 142 Introduction to Photography

Introduces digital photography camera handling and editing, and the printing of digital images. Covers important photographic themes and composition.

Prerequisite: Placement in WR 115  (or higher), or completion of WR 090  (or higher) with a grade of C or better; consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify basic camera equipment and controls. 
  2. Import files from a digital camera to the computer. 
  3. Apply basic design and compositional concepts. 
  4. Use editing software to correct digital images. 
  5. Produce quality inkjet prints. 
  6. Explain ethics and legal issues as related to photography and image use. 
  7. Apply compositional techniques to create aesthetically pleasing images.
