ART 142 Introduction to Photography Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 3
Introduces digital photography camera handling and editing, and the printing of digital images. Covers important photographic themes and composition.
Prerequisite: Placement in WR 115 (or higher), or completion of WR 090 (or higher) with a grade of C or better; consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify basic camera equipment and controls.
- Import files from a digital camera to the computer.
- Apply basic design and compositional concepts.
- Use editing software to correct digital images.
- Produce quality inkjet prints.
- Explain ethics and legal issues as related to photography and image use.
- Apply compositional techniques to create aesthetically pleasing images.
