AUM 253 Automotive Engines 2

Focuses on repair and service of automotive internal combustion engines. Stresses speed and accuracy of diagnosis and repair. Builds on prior training.

Prerequisite: AUM 267 , AUM 282 , and AUM 286 , each with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use industry standard safe working practices in making engine repairs. 
  2. Correctly use automotive hand and power tools.
  3. Describe the communication required between tool room personnel, parts people, and customers. 
  4. Use service manuals to diagnose and repair automotive engines. 
  5. Calculate shop flat rate on assigned repairs. 
  6. Diagnose and repair or replace internal combustion engines.
