BA 228 Computerized Accounting 1

Introduces computer-based accounting for small businesses and provides hands-on experience with business applications including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory management processing, sales invoicing, check reconciliation, financial statements, budgeting, analysis, and reports.

Prerequisite: BA 115  or BA 211 , either with a grade of C or better; and computer literacy; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Perform tasks and procedures required to operate the computer-based accounting software for existing service and merchandising businesses using the integrated modules and menu structure. 
  2. Prepare financial statements and complete financial statement analysis. 
  3. Describe the procedures in the conversion process from a manual accounting system to a computerized accounting system.
