BA 257 Income Tax 2

Presents the second of two courses in preparing Federal and Oregon individual income tax returns. Completing BA 256  and BA 257 meets the educational requirements to take the Oregon Licensed Tax Preparer’s exam.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Explain basic Federal tax law topics and Oregon administrative and licensing rules related to tax preparation. 
  2. Define and use terminology relating to income tax preparation. 
  3. Manage various facets involved in preparation of income tax returns including tax credits and special taxes, accounting periods, depreciation, capital gains and losses, withholding, estimated tax payments, payroll taxes, and tax administration and planning.
  4. Accurately prepare comprehensive Federal and Oregon Individual income tax returns.
