BLD 141 International Residential Codes 1

Covers the administrative, definitions, building planning, and foundation portions of the International Residential Specialty Code (Chapters 1 through 4 and 44) as it relates to residential construction and other applicable codes.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Locate and apply dwelling codes to residential construction. 
  2. Determine when a permit is required for a structure. 
  3. Apply the administrative provisions of the code to residential plans and inspections. 
  4. Determine the required design criteria for  residential construction. 
  5. Determine the code requirements for soils and foundations, and assess if the design for a foundation meets code requirements.
