Introduces international students to information, resources, and strategies to be successful in the U.S. educational environment. Designed for beginning and intermediate non-native English speakers attending the Language and Culture Institute.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Apply strategies relating to American culture to interact and learn in the community college setting.
  2. Describe stages of culture shock and apply strategies to adjust to living in a new culture.
  3. Explain policies, procedures, and services needed to manage the educational process.
  4. Design and implement a personal plan to learn English utilizing college resources, study skills and language learning strategies.
