CJ 100 Survey of the Criminal Justice System

A review of criminal justice systems and procedures from criminal violation to final disposition. Covers six primary functional areas of administration of justice and reviews principles of federal, state, criminal, and civil laws as they apply to and affect the system.

  1. Trace a defendant through the criminal justice system from arrest to final disposition of the case.
  2. Describe the historical and philosophical development of the criminal justice system in the United States.
  3. Identify diverse issues facing the criminal justice systems in the United States.
