CJ 110 Introduction to Law Enforcement Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Introduces the history and philosophy of law enforcement and the administration of justice. Includes current issues and related procedures/policies. Provides a preview of a professional career in law enforcement and how an agency functions in relation to public relations and professional and political ethics.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the historical and philosophical development of law enforcement in the United States.
- Explain the variations in law enforcement agencies pertaining to enforcement and style of policing.
- Identify and describe the basic testing and hiring practices of police agencies and their requirements.
