CVL 143 Introduction to Civil Survey Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Introduces a broad variety of office- and field-based activities associated with the work of a professional land surveyor. Emphasizes professional-technical development and working as a member of a team.
Corequisite: MTH 070 , or MTH 081 or higher; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Use elementary survey computations to determine the position and elevation of a location.
- Operate electronic survey equipment.
- Use oral and written communication skills in working as an individual or a member of a team.
- Perform basic field survey procedures including cross-sections, horizontal and vertical control traverses.
- Maintain survey notes in a survey field book.
