DRF 241 Structural Drafting Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Introduces light commercial construction practices. Covers production of working drawings using AutoCAD software. Also covers drafting practices applied with the building materials of steel and concrete.
Prerequisite: DRF 131 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Produce a foundation drawing of a commercial building.
- Produce a working drawing of a commercial warehouse.
- Demonstrate proper dimensioning practices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of welding symbols.
- Translate data from the structural steel manual to a working drawing.
- Produce a drawing using the grid system.
- Produce detail drawings.
- Produce column and footing schedules.
