ECE 150 Introduction and Observation Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Focuses on the history of early childhood education (birth to 8 years) and the value and use of objective observations as a teaching tool. Includes a survey of professional opportunities within the field and observation in a variety of childcare settings including early childhood education and early childhood special education and venues.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain major issues in the field of early childhood education.
- Provide an historical overview of early childhood education.
- Use strategies to objectively observe children actions and behaviors.
- Apply observation skills to various aged children in a variety of settings.
- Identify and articulate strengths and challenges of a variety of programs.
