ECE 161 Infant and Toddler Practicum

Provides experience working with infants and toddlers in a community with a professional teacher. Will observe and practice high-quality care.

Prerequisite: HDF 249  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Perform the role of an infant and toddler aide. 
  2. Provide an historical overview of early childhood education. 
  3. Use communication techniques to work cooperatively and effectively with others in the child care setting. 
  4. Meet children’s needs and supervise children and their activities.
