EGR 248 Graphics and 3-D Modeling

Lecture Hours: 1
Lab Hours: 6
Credits: 3

Covers graphic communication, multi-view and pictorial representation, conceptual design, spatial analysis, and engineering design representation through use of parametric modeling software.

Prerequisite: Placement into WR 115  (or higher), or completion of WR 090  (or higher); and completion of DRF 130 ; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.)
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use Solidworks in drafting and engineering applications.
  2. Generate parametric 3-D models of machine parts and assemblies.
  3. Produce single and multi-view drawings from 3-D solid models.
  4. Compute tolerances.
  5. Generate pictorial views from 3-D models.
  6. Analyze fit for assembled machine parts.
