ELT 151 Digital Fundamentals

Lecture Hours: 3
Lab Hours: 2
Credits: 4

Introduces digital logic theories: number systems and conversions, Boolean algebra, simplification theorems, combinational logic, and arithmetic. Promotes and supports sustainable and green technologies.

Prerequisite: ELT 131  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Convert between the different number bases used with digital logic and or computer systems.
  2. Use Boolean algebra, theorems and Karnaugh mapping to simplify combinational logic circuits.
  3. Construct, test and troubleshoot simple combinational logic circuits from truth tables, Boolean expressions and logic diagrams.
