ELT 283 Logical Troubleshooting

Lecture Hours: 3
Lab Hours: 3
Credits: 4

Introduces and applies industry recognized standards, procedures, and practices for logical troubleshooting and analysis of electronic systems. Includes lab activities such as system-level, board-level and component-level troubleshooting and diagnosis, using live systems and real-world circuit faults. Promotes and supports sustainable and green technologies.

Prerequisite: ELT 244  and ELT 161 , each with a grade of C or better; or equivalent course as determined by instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify all major blocks of a complex electronic system.
  2. Apply logical troubleshooting procedures, diagnostic techniques and test equipment in signal tracing and analysis of faults within a system.
  3. Setup and adjust electronic systems.
  4. Identify different types of signal interface connectors and determine required input signal levels and polarities.
