FE 280A5 Cooperative Work Experience


Credits: 1

Offers placement in a business, agency, and/or industry for on-the-job training related to the student’s curriculum.

Prerequisite: Determined by each curriculum. Guidelines on file in the Cooperative Work Experience office and with each curriculum’s CWE Instructor and Director.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Write, implement, complete, and evaluate learning objectives. 
  2. Select and apply job skills from the specific curriculum to a work experience. 
  3. Apply professional work habits on job site. 


Content Outline
Each curriculum develops a course outline/syllabus to meet its specific curriculum objectives for the one hour seminar. The seminar requirements may be met by meeting one hour weekly or by meeting requirements set up by the curriculum area for the independent study option. A typical seminar/independent study option outline may include topics as follows:

Independent study option requires weekly reports of tasks worked on or completed, essay statements of impression created, problems solved, etc. May require the development of a comprehensive journal. Students on the independent option meet regularly with the CWE Instructor from their curriculum area.
