Introduces equipment commonly used in nursery and greenhouse production, including operation, basic maintenance, and safety. Covers self-propelled equipment, mechanical attachments, pesticide application equipment, irrigation equipment, and tools. Emphasizes safety practices and regulations in use of all equipment.

Discuss state and federal regulations regarding safety of workers operating machinery in a nursery or greenhouse.
Explain the basic theory of how hydraulic equipment operates.
Describe uses for and operation of self-propelled equipment commonly used in nurseries and greenhouses.
List stationery equipment commonly used in nursery and greenhouse production and describe operation of each.
Select and use appropriate attire and personal protective equipment when operating machinery.
