MLD 420 Sector Seminar 2 Lecture Hours: 5 Credits: 5
Connect participants with key industry leaders in their sector. Develop connections to assist them throughout their careers in their industry. Develop strong relationships within the leadership of the industry sector they are involved in students will gain an advantage in the management level of their industry.
Prerequisite: Admitted into Applied Baccalaureate Program; completed AAS degree; or consent of instructor. Recommended: Prior management experience.

Content Outline
- Identify strategic leaders in specific industry sectors
- Identify key traits of successful leaders/managers in chosen industry sector
- Develop communication plan for connecting with key leaders/managers
- Identify key leaders in industry sector of choice
- Develop communication strategies including, written, and verbal
- Schedule site visits to observe leadership responsibilities and opportunities
- Identify target company within industry sector.
- Identify key leadership responsibilities within industry sector.
- Identify multiple approaches to management situations
- Develop strategies for industry sector specific situations.
- Identify policy and procedures for specific responsibilities within the sector.
