MT 282 Process Control Practicum 2


Lab Hours: 6
Credits: 2

Provides related on-the job experience with area employers, under instructional oversight. Utilizes supervised industrial experience to develop intermediate process control procedures, including equipment maintenance, standardization, limited calibration, and process management at local industry partners.

Prerequisite: MT 281  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Respond to direction from the supervising site manager.
  2. Participate in basic industrial maintenance procedures.
  3. Practice industry standard professional and ethical behaviors at the work site.
  4. Describe and wear professional attire for the position.
  5. Select and assemble equipment as requested.
  6. Apply knowledge of basic process control systems through active participation.
  7. Apply OSHA standards to a worksite setting.
  8. Document process control changes.
  9. Use a standard response to changes in process control variables.               
  10. Apply industry safety standards to industrial systems.
