Understand how nutrition impacts key life stages from pregnancy through old age. Explore how lifestyle factors play an important role in nutritional requirements at different life stages.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Describe special nutritional needs and recommended guidelines of the life stages of pregnancy, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
- Recognize the health consequences of under or excess nutrient intake at critical life stages.
- Understand how additional lifestyle factors (e.g., exercise) can affect nutrient requirements.
- Use current information technologies to locate evidence‐based nutrition information and guidelines.
- Identify health problems that occur at higher frequency compared to other life stages along with possible solutions to the problem.
