Offers a conditioning program to improve sports skills and specific athletic activities. Improves fitness, speed, balance, core conditioning, and coordination with various protocols including plyometrics, agility, games, strength, and conditioning exercises.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning 

  1. Demonstrate full participation in a conditioning program to improve sports skills. 
  2. Set individual conditioning goals. 
  3. Identify components of fitness for specific sports activities. 
  4. Demonstrate anaerobic strength components for specific athletic activities 
  5. Demonstrate anaerobic power components. 
  6. Use fitness testing to identify personal fitness measurements (body composition, flexibility, jump and reach, long jump). 

Intermediate 

  1. Demonstrate all beginning level objectives for participating in a sports activity. 
  2. Develop an individual conditioning programs for specific sport. 
  3. Identify types of safe and unsafe stretches, warm-up, and exercise activities. 

Advanced 

  1. Demonstrate all intermediate level objectives for participating in a sports activity. 
  2. Develop a conditioning program for a specific sport. 
  3. Develop and practice a series of active warm-ups and cool-downs  appropriate for specific sports. 
  4. Design and lead a group in a series of conditioning exercises for a specific sport.
