PE 185DO Group Exercise, Advanced

Increases cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance or flexibility, and overall health. Incorporates a combination of step, cardio kickboxing or dance routines, strengthening exercises, Pilates and/or stretching activities. Supports incorporating exercise into a lifestyle.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Beginning 

  1. Perform basic exercise movements. 
  2. Participate in a consistent exercise schedule. 
  3. Determine intensity by measuring individual heart rate and target zone or rate of perceived exertion. 
  4. Monitor individual physical intensity and progress. 
  5. Increase cardiovascular capacity, muscular strength, and endurance and/or flexibility. 

Intermediate 

  1. Meet beginning objectives. 
  2. Use correct exercise techniques. 

Advanced 

  1. Meet beginning and intermediate objectives. 
  2. Explain the benefits of incorporating regular exercise.
