PHM 120 Pharmacy Operations and Laboratory

Covers the various controls of pharmaceutical inventory, accessing of non-compounded products, and compounding preparation of pharmaceuticals for distribution.

Prerequisite: First-term standing in the Pharmacy Technician program.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Retrieve/profile inventoried non-compounded products.
  2. Implement industry-standard safety procedures to prevent medication errors.
  3. Prepare compound pharmaceuticals for patient distribution.
  4. Handle hazardous wastes, sharps, and infection control according to industry specifications.
  5. Label medication products for patient distribution.
