Provides a basic understanding of structure and function of certain biological systems within the human body, including gastrointestinal, integumentary, renal, reproductive systems, and special senses. Continues pharmacological principles involving therapeutic medications and diseases/ pathophysiology affecting said body systems.

Prerequisite: PHM 232 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:

Describe the basic structure and function of the gastrointestinal, integumentary, renal reproductive systems, and special senses.
Classify pharmaceuticals and name prototypes of therapeutic medications for the gastrointestinal tract, integumentary, renal, and reproductive systems.
Identify and name routes of drug administration for body systems.
Utilize critical thinking skills to read and assess medical literature.
Determine variables involved in contraindications and interactions of drug administration for specific body systems.
Identify basic human diseases and conditions in body systems.
