SLD 129 Student Life Leadership

Credits: 1

Introduces students to techniques, strategies and information fundamental to success in a college/work environment. Explores leadership qualities, meeting facilitation skills, planning and organizational skills and college and office policies and procedures.

Prerequisite: Placement into WR 115  (or higher), or completion of WR 090  (or higher) with a grade of C or better; and must be hired in a Student Retention and College Life Leadership position.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Locate and identify key college resources, services and Student Life procedures.
  2. Identify qualities of a good employee within a college/work environment.
  3. Relate successful time management to achieving individual and team goals.
  4. Use strategies to facilitate meetings.
  5. Use training to operate the Book Closet.
  6. Plan, organize and implement a team project.
  7. Support and encourage student participation in Campus Clubs and activities.
