WLD 273 Advanced TIG Welding

Continues WLD 173 . Provides additional practice to build and refine skills with the TIG welding process. Practical application of the TIG welding process to include welding on various thicknesses and shapes of aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel alloys.

Prerequisite: Fifth-term standing in the Welding technology program or consent of program chair.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate skills welding various thicknesses and shapes of stainless steel alloys.
  2. Demonstrate skills welding various thicknesses and shapes of carbon steel alloys.
  3. Demonstrate skills welding various thicknesses and shapes of aluminum alloys.
  4. Demonstrate skills welding aluminum alloy castings.
  5. Demonstrate skills setting up industrial TIG welding equipment.
