WR 198B Independent Studies: Writing

Uses the college learning contract to provide student and instructor with a vehicle to allow independent study in an area of student interest.

Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor.
Repeatable: WR 198B may be repeated for a maximum of 4 credits total.
Student Learning Outcomes:

Write structurally and grammatically sound, unambiguous, and varied sentences.
Demonstrate increased proficiency in use of basic punctuation: comma, period, semi-colon, colon.
Identify and correct error patterns specific to the individual writer, using effective proofreading techniques.
Explain the basic concepts of paragraph and essay structures.
