The Horticulture degree program prepares students for occupations in greenhouse and nursery production, and propagation, including positions as crop health technicians, landscape technicians, plant sales representatives, and public horticulturists. The program offers a two-year associate of applied science degree.

Program Outcomes

Students completing this program should be able to satisfy the following outcomes:

1. Perform skills and use equipment necessary to propagate, transplant, fertilize, irrigate, prune, and otherwise regulate growth of plants.
2. Recognize, name, and understand management requirements for plants commonly grown in Oregon and their associated pests.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of government regulations, workplace safety, water regulations, pesticide safety, and crop sanitation requirements.
4. Evaluate production practices in terms of currently understood principles of sustainability.

You may earn an associate of applied science degree by successfully completing the required 94 credit hours with a grade of “C” or better in all courses.
