Criminal Justice | Basic Corrections, Certificate

The Basic Corrections certificate prepares students for entry-level positions in correctional facilities as security aids, correctional officers and corrections work supervisors.

Program Outcomes

Students completing the Basic Corrections certificate should be able to satisfy the following outcomes:

  1. Identify the historical and philosophical evolution of criminal justice sanctions and punishment.
  2. Describe the constitutional and statutory foundation for offender treatment within correctional facilities.

You may earn a certificate of completion by successfully completing the required 37 credit hours with a grade of “C” or better in all courses.
