ANES 212 Anesthesia Technology Clinical Practicum 3 Lab Hours: 27 Credits: 9
Third course of a three course sequence. Apply knowledge of clinical skills and work ethic during the anesthesia technologist clinical rotation. Practice job search skills for an entry-level position as an anesthesia technologist.
Prerequisite: ANES 211 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Corequisite: ANES 215 . Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate clinical application of skills acquired from previous didactic, laboratory coursework, and practicum in the patient care setting.
- Complete capstone project
- Differentiate between the various types of more complex anesthesia equipment and instrumentation.
- Write a comprehensive plan of care in conjunction with the anesthesia care provider in preparation for the complex surgical patient.
- Manage an anesthesia care environment to ensure proper function of various anesthesia equipment used in cardiac, neurological, and trauma surgeries.
- Demonstrate the characteristics of an effective leader in communicating with other anesthesia providers in the care of complex surgical cases.
- Compare and contrast the various modalities used in peripheral nerve blocks.
