ANES 211 Anesthesia Technology Clinical Practicum 2


Lab Hours: 12
Credits: 4

Second course of a three course practicum. Demonstrate the practical applications of their knowledge and skills by application of clinical skills and work ethic during the anesthesia technologist clinical rotation. Practice job search skills for an entry-level position as an anesthesia technologist.

Prerequisite: ANES 210  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Corequisite: ANES 203  
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate clinical application of skills acquired from previous didactic, laboratory coursework, and practicum in the patient care setting.  
  2. Differentiate between the various equipment used in the anesthesia care of the obstetrical, pediatric, and ambulatory surgical patient. 
  3. Write a comprehensive plan of care in conjunction with the anesthesia care provider for the obstetrical, pediatric, and ambulatory surgical patient. 
  4. Demonstrate proper psychomotor skills in preparation of anesthesia equipment to be used in obstetrics, pediatrics, and outpatient surgeries.  
  5. Demonstrate decision making skills used in the anesthesia care of the obstetric, pediatric, and ambulatory surgical patient. 
  6. Differentiate between the various warming devices used in the care of the pediatric cases.
