APR 153C Electrician Apprenticeship Measurements


Lecture Hours: 3
Credits: 3

Provides training for the Inside Wire Electrician Apprentice. Covers mathematical formulas of equations, basic AC theory, use of test equipment, and applicable Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. Includes safety procedures.

Prerequisite: APR 153B  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Operate/use the different types of measuring instruments commonly used in the electrical field. 
  2. Apply different types of batteries. 
  3. Explain the concept of magnetic induction related to generators, motors, and transformers. 
  4. Interconnect micro-electronic control schemes. 
  5. Apply electrical code standards to inside electrical wiring.
