APR 258J Plumber Apprenticeship-Industrial Installation Lecture Hours: 4 Lab Hours: 2 Credits: 5
Continues training for plumber apprentices to study theory and trade practices. Includes installation practices emphasizing industrial and institutional systems and service, blueprints of drainage and venting and special waste systems, mathematics of volume and pipe sizing, safety and sanitation, and applicable 2017 Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code (OPSC).
Prerequisite: APR 258I with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Explain plumbing installations, as they apply to industrial, institutional systems and service, and waste and drainage and venting systems.
- Calculate mathematics of volume and pipe sizing.
- Explain safety and sanitation practices related to code conformance and maintenance of industry standards.
- Interpret applicable OPSC.
