APR 258K Plumber Apprenticeship-Basic Waste Water Systems

Continues training for plumber apprentices in trade theory and practices. Covers water supply protection, breaker valve assembly, heating systems, science of hydraulics, pumps and system performance and maintenance, shop and isometric drawings of systems and special components, and 2017 Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code (OPSC). Includes an examination review.

Prerequisite: APR 258J  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Describe waste systems, protection of water supply, breaker valve assembly, heating systems, brazing and layout. 
  2. Explain hydraulic and pump theory and perform maintenance. 
  3. Draw shop isometrics of systems and special components. 
  4. Interpret and apply knowledge of OPSC to meet state standards on jobs. 
  5. Study effectively for, and pass, the statewide licensing exam.
