ART 267 Portrait Photography

Explores a variety of techniques and approaches to portraiture. Includes making formal, informal, environmental, and group portraits using studio lighting, location lighting, and available light. Incorporates digital printing and professional practices.

Prerequisite: ART 266  with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Apply lighting set ups and light modifying techniques. 
  2. Apply compositional concepts to portrait making. 
  3. Apply posing techniques. 
  4. Correct color and retouch digital portrait images. 
  5. Produce technically accurate inkjet images. 
  6. Apply ethics and legal issues as related to portrait photography. 
  7. Use industry standard terminology in discussing concepts and techniques. 
  8. Use professional work methods and attitudes in portraiture.
