AUM 262 Manual Drive Trains and Axles 2 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 4
Continues the theory and service of automotive drive trains, concentrating on the diagnosis and repair of all components. Includes practical application of diagnosis, service, and repair on clutches, drive shafts, universal joints, front-wheel drive axles, manual transmissions, manual transaxles, rear axles, differentials, and four-wheel drive transfer cases.
Prerequisite: AUM 161 and AUM 176 , each with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Student Learning Outcomes:
- Diagnose, service and repair clutch related problems.
- Diagnose, service and repair transmission and transaxle problems.
- Diagnose, service and repair differential related problems.
- Diagnose, service and repair transfer case and four-wheel drive related problems.
- Diagnose, service and repair rear-wheel drive driveshaft and universal joint related problems.
- Diagnose, service and repair front-wheel drive axle and CV joint related problems.
