AUM 277 Electronic Vehicle Controls 1

Emphasizes testing, diagnosis, and the theory of automotive electrical and electronic systems. Includes computer-controlled systems and sub-systems, networks, and diagnostic equipment.

Prerequisite: AUM 161  and AUM 176 , each with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Describe the purpose and operation of automotive computer-controlled systems.
  2. Identify and describe the operation of individual inputs and outputs in computer controlled systems. 
  3. Use automotive scan tools and lab scopes in accordance with industry standards. 
  4. Retrieve codes and interpret data stream information from automotive computers.
