BA 235 Procurement for State and Local Governments

Provides a basic understanding of pertinent topics and influences that shape the public procurement profession. Includes fundamentals of public procurement: competition, impartiality and openness, effective use of public funds, innovation, and flexibility.

Recommended: Placement into WR 121Z ; and completion of BA 101  with a grade of C or better.


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify essential elements of procurement leadership and organizational structure.
  2. Understand the importance of competition in government procurement.
  3. Learn about strategies and planning processes used in state and local government procurement activities.
